Tucked into a corner of Connecticut, Mystic is one of New
England's most
photographed villages.
But few visitors, even most locals, do not have the time
or
inside knowledge to see all the hidden splendors
the region has to offer nor
experience its full change of seasons.
In this stunning collection of color photographs, award-winning photographer Stephen Sisk offers an intimate glimpse of the area in and around Connecticut's most fabled village. From the shoreline, with its crashing surf, white sand beaches and many boatyards, to the countryside, where rural backroads lined with rock walls string together quaint boroughs, open fields and working farms, the beauty and diversity of Mystic make it a special home for some and a destination for so many others.
About the Photographer Stephen Sisk, a lifelong resident of Stonington, Connecticut, has been photographing southeastern Connecticut and coastal Rhode Island for more than thirty years. A self-taught photographer, Sisk brings a unique viewpoint to his craft. He has been the master gardener at Mystic Seaport for thirty-four years. His award-winning images have appeared on calendars and book covers, and in advertising and websites. His landscape and scenic photographs are highlighted at local art shows and galleries.
